When faced with an empty screen or piece of paper and asked to write, I go blank. Give me a white wall, plate, t-shirt or café on the other hand and I’m off.
Herein lie the sleepless nights, creative dreams and midnight scribbles that have been part of this process for the last year, or much much longer…
“If you don’t mind I’m just going to have a look around and see what’s changed since last week.”
This is what I heard yesterday from one of our NEW 3 generation regulars, and also what I see in my team’s faces when they arrive for their shift in the morning. Spot the difference must be guilty pleasure of mine.
I will start with the NOW, what’s gone before will surely come after… we really do see things differently here at Punk Me Up!
What’s in a name?
In case you’re looking for us, (like our delivery man this morning) we’re still at 34 East Dulwich Road we’ve just changed our name to Punk Me Up Ceramics Café.
We’ve been working on our new logo, created for us by one of our talented team and illustrator Eve Lague, we hope you like it as much as we do.
I literally cannot wait for our new signage to arrive as it’s sure to light up Goose Green!
Why Punk Me Up?
We’ve been running our own children’s events company Punk Me Up Buttercup since August 2013. Like most start up businesses we began at the kitchen table, quickly transferred to our ‘garden room’ (the shed) and later to our first studio.
As our business grew, the need for our own premises was the exciting and very necessary next step…
Hello East Dulwich, you’d better start wearing overalls
With our yet to be named back room, ideas in a comment please, we can now host exciting events, classes, workshops & parties with plenty of room to swing a ceramic cat! Whoop whoop!
Are you more of a Punk or Buttercup?
For those of you that know us well, calling your child a Punk or Buttercup will now be part of your vocabulary, particularly during the school holidays or near Birthday times.
With 2 Punks of my own, Giulio aged 4 and Vittorio aged 3, on a daily basis, I’m definitely more Punk…
