Here at Punk Me Up we understand what a minefield parenting can be and sometimes getting real advice and being able to talk to the experts in a relaxed setting is just what YOU need.
We have invited some specialists to our café to host a variety of workshops over the next few months.
First up we have Bella Learning, which is run by experienced primary teacher Annabel Gray. Bring your pre-schoolers for an introduction to the world of phonics and numbers (it’s a lot different since we went to school) and you’ll get to play exciting games which can be played at home. The perfect way to prepare both yourself and the little ones for big school!
Rebecca from ABC Speech and Language Therapy will be hosting a series of play based workshops and she’ll give you ideas on how to set up play with your little punks and buttercups at home so that you maximise opportunities to develop their speech and language skills. Rebecca will be on hand to answer questions and give advice and you’ll leave with a ‘tip of the week’ handout and associated home activity ideas.
We are also running Life Drawing with Baby classes with artist Becca Samura. These relaxed classes are for new mums with pre-crawlers looking to explore their creative side and get to know their baby in a new light. This is a lovely way to bond with your baby, get to know other parents and improve different artistic techniques.
“But Friday afternoons don’t work for me!”
Not to worry… we also have some First Aid courses by the wonderful Butterfly First Aid on Sundays, so you can still learn from a specialist! The morning session will train your child (no parents allowed!) to carry out CPR, Administer the recovery position and know when to contact the emergency services using mannequins, choking vests and fake blood. The afternoon session includes parents, so you can learn with your child!
